What outlet does a cold plunge need?

Does your plunge keep tripping the breaker?

We can't tell you how to wire anything. We can show you what the company says your plunge should be plugged into, so you know what to ask.

  1. Find your plunge in the chart below and note what it needs.
  2. Find the breaker for that outlet. The amp number is printed on the switch.
  3. Share both with the company's support team and a licensed electrician.

Where the numbers don't add up

Plunge All-In: 15 or 20 amps?

The product page says a 15-amp breaker. Plunge's help center says 20 amps, and that 15 isn't reliable. The chiller is listed as 0.75 HP on one page and 1 HP on another.

The 1HP bundle's tub holds 200 gallons. The chiller that comes with it is rated for up to 110 gallons.

Nordik Prestige 2.0: heater too big for the plug?

Nordik lists a 4,600-watt heater and a 110-120 volt plug. A heater that size would draw about 38 amps at 120 volts, far more than a household outlet is built for. We couldn't find Nordik's explanation; ask them before you buy.

One question to ask before you buy

Ask the company: "Is this plunge certified to UL 1563, and what's the certificate number?" UL 1563 is the main safety standard for hot tubs and spas, and it covers cold tubs too. In June 2026 it added rules for chillers that use flammable coolant.
